Curtains is een op grunge gebaseerde indie/rock band uit Maassluis, die eind 2003 werd opgericht door drie vrienden. De band bestaat uit Tobias Saenen (bas), Pim Kipp (drums) en Sander den Besten (gitaar/zang).
In mei 2004 was het eerste optreden in Podiumcafé Unique Maassluis op de Battle of the Bands waar een enthousiast publiek nog lang na praatte over de show. Hierna volgden meerdere optredens waaronder: LocalHeroes TV in de Arminius kerk te Rotterdam, Demo tv in Boogje1 te Rotterdam en op het Gigfestival te Maassluis waar het publiek rijkelijk vermaakt werd, door een energiek en enthousiast optreden. In oktober 2004 zijn er vier nummers opgenomen door Nicky in het Veld, deze zijn op de site te beluisteren. In het voorjaar zijn we van plan om dit nogmaals te doen. Na een half jaar gespeeld te hebben in en rond Maassluis streeft de band nu naar meer regionale bekendheid.

Op het moment gaat de band voor 3 maanden uit elkaar. Pim de drummer zal deze tijd in Mexico, waar zijn ouders nu wonen, gaan doorbrengen.

In het voorjaar zal komen ze weer bij elkaar om doortebreken. Want ondertussen wordt er keihard gewerkt aan een film van Curtains wat ongeveer klaar zal zijn in April. Ook is er een Demo/CD in aantocht.

Don’t try us for our marvellous music composition, you won’t get it from us. We are built on simplicity and energy, just plug in and play. The band consists of three men, drummer, guitar player/singer and a bass player named in the same order Pim, Sander and Tobias all aged around twenty. As every self-respecting band we hope to create none comparative music, but alas everyone knows at least one band to compare us with and because of the lack of knowledge about music genres we usually use the opinion of de Popunie (NL). That means we make indi-rock based on grunge. Off course if a list was given of what music we personally like there probably are a lot of things that look, or in this case, sound the same, but it is not really that we play those things on purpose, it’s just that when we practice it happens to fall together in that particular way. There is a demo available on our website which is free to download and as was mentioned before we are working hard on new songs so we can make a new demo to promote ourselves with new material.
